City Cruises plc is the leading provider of boat trips on the Thames, transporting some three quarters of a million passangers each year on our various sightseeing, ferry, entertainment and charter boat services. Our four directors have a vast amount of experience with boats on the Thames; Gary and Rita Beckwith acquired their first sightseeing boat, The King, in 1985, while Paul Wilson is Waterman to HM The Queen, and the fourth generation of his family to work on the River Thames. Marketing director David Steele is the recipient of numerous awards for excellence in tourism.

Our fleet contains a range of vessels to cater for the varying boat trips we provide on the Thames. Our luxury riverliners, the Millenium of Peace, Millenium City, Millenium Dawn and Millenium Time were built at a total cost of £6m, and are the result of more than 5 years exhaustive research from City Cruises. Our first riverliner, the Millenium of London, entered service in 1996 and was the first purpose-built sightseeing vessel for 25 years, and to mark the occasion was named by the Queen at Tower Pier. It is now home to the London Showboat. Other City Cruises vessels include the Mayflower Garden, whose large dance deck and comfortable saloon make it ideal for disco and buffet cruises for up to 240 passengers. There is the Eltham, with two comfortable decks and the ability to seat 64 for dinner or 120 for a buffet and disco cruise. Last but not least is the Westminster, with her elegant teak-lined saloon and open-top deck, useful for dinner, buffet, disco or exhibition purposes. All these vessels offer facilities for corporate functions, wedding receptions, meetings and parties on the Thames.

Our Fleet

From our extensive fleet of boats there is an range of possibilities available to anyone wanting to plan a trip to remember. If the mood takes you, why not purchase one of our River Red Rover tickets, enabling you to catch one of our regular boat trips up and down the Thames and hop on and off at Westminster Pier, Tower Pier and Greenwich as many times as you like. Or, if you want to remain on the Thames and take in the sights from the comfort of one of our boats, then try taking a trip on the sightseeing cruise, with a route guaranteed to sate your appetite for the sights of London. Starting from Westminster, home of Parliament, and making your way under Tower Bridge towards Greenwich, you will witness the magnificent buildings and vistas which make London one of the most visited and spectacular cities in the world.

If you feel particularly inclined towards sitting back and fully appreciating the ambience as you enjoy your trip on the Thames, then you may wish to try one of our other options, for example our lunch and tea cruises - a very civilised way to take in the splendours of London. If the idea of seeing the sights at night appeals, then you may wish to take one of our dinner cruises, with spectacular illuminated views of London. And if the views of the capital aren't enough, the London Showboat offers a unique dinner and cabaret trip with a four course meal and live music and dancing, enabling you to relax on the boat and savour your food to the accompaniment of tunes from shows such as 'Cats', 'Me and My Girl' and 'Les Misérables' as you slowly take your trip downriver alongside the illuminated monuments of London.
