Afternoon Tea while cruising along the Thames. What a civilised way to pass the afternoon. Why not gather a group of like-minded friends to enjoy a gentle cruise with a little cake? And if the mood takes you, perhaps a glass of something bubbly?
And when you've finished off your tea, you can always stroll upstairs to take in the 360 degree views of London's riverside landmarks.
Perfect for relaxing after a little light shopping or just the journey up to town, or for entertaining family and friends.
The cruise departs daily from Tower Pier. The boat leaves at 15.30 (boarding at 15.15) from Tower Pier and returns to Tower pier at 17.00.

... and the afternoon tea was great!
Was a little disappointed with refreshments. More choice of teas would have been greatly appreciated , way in which served could be updated. Plastic urns had seen better days !!!!
Very fresh and varied choices including vegetarian options. Lots of drink options and staff checking that everything ok.
Very nice afternoon tea.
We ordered a jug of pimms which went well with the sandwiches and scones.
Very well presented would have liked to have a choice of sandwich filling as we didn't like all of them but that was just a personal choice. It was a very enjoyable experience.
Superb afternoon tea - one minor thing might be to have more 'child-friendly' options on the tea plate as my niece didn't like any of the sandwich choices.
Food was great and lots of it! The table next to us knocked theirs over and they'd eaten most of it but it was replaced in its entirety without hesitation
Great food and excellent service. The timing of the tea service was perfect with the length of the cruise itself. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon in London.
Excellent food and plenty of tea 'top ups'
Wonderful and special experience. My friend and I had a wonderful time celebrating a special occasion. We look forward to a repeat visit next Summer.
Excellent value for money
We had a great afternoon. The weather was beautiful, the tea was delicious and the views from the boat were really interesting
The afternoon tea was really nice and we'll presented. We were also regularly supplied with tea. My only reason I rate it good and not excellent is that we had no idea what we were eating so it would have been nice to have a list of what everything was.
The service was Quick and friendly!
The Afternoon Tea was excellent
Where do I begin. Well, they didn't serve tea on the Afternoon Tea cruise. a full 30 minutes into the cruise we were offered no beverages. No tea. No water. No champagne. No wine. Nothing. Finally, someone came and offered coffee. When I declined, I didn't see another person for 10 more minutes. Once I complained it was explained to me that the tea maker wasn't working properly and they couldn't heat the water. I finally was given a glass of wine (for which I was surprisingly billed). Eventually we were served tea. By then the snacks had been mostly consumed making the continuity of the experience unbalanced.
To make matters worse, there was a completely unruly child running around and screaming and sliding across the floor throughout the cruise. No one from the staff ever once approached the family and asked them to control their child (around 3 years old). It is not my job as a paying customer to chastise another customer about their behavior. It is the job of the staff to ensure the comfort of all of their customers.
I think had these few things been corrected this would have been an incredible experience and I would have recommended the cruise highly. Instead, I was very dissappointed and would like my poor experience acknowledged.
Furthermore, I have videotape of some of what I saw and experienced if anyone from City Cruises would like to discuss with me.
Our Afternoon Tea was absolutely beautiful and wonderful! They gave special attention to your needs. MY partner was a little hesitant about going to a tea, but soon realized that it was actually fun. We certainly enjoyed every minute of the tea and boat ride.
The food we brilliant cannot fault it
Service was ok
The afternoon tea was poor quality. There was no real choice of te type and the scones were poorly made.
Afternoon tea was excellent.... Thank you..,
Enjoyable couple of hours. Very nice afternoon tea. Non stop tea and coffee. Good value.
Tea and cruise were also excellent.
Excellent value for money. It would be good if the boat went towards canary wharf first whilst having afternoon tea so when sat up on the top it was whilst seeing city sights
A beautiful selection of cakes and sandwiches. Unlimited tea or coffee. Drinks purchased from the bar were not overly expensive (for London).
Friendly clean and definitely worth the price!
Really relaxing and informative
The tea was lovely. There was not sufficient cream but we were given more when we asked.
First time in London, what a great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon with the mammy. Rosie from Eire
Had a great time and the guy who did the commentary was cool as he had a sense of humour.
Plentiful, tasty and beautifully served
Lovely afternoon tea but as we sat in the middle tables the water forgot about us and we had to ask if we wanted more tea but other tables got asked
Good quality, polite and efficient service.
Delightful food, really enjoyed the tea refills and delicious cakes
The afternoon tea was good but a few more sandwiches wouldnt have gone a miss.
The quality and service of the afternoon tea was indeed excellent. Staff around all the time to ask whether you need refills of tea/coffee, and all the staff were extremely efficient, polite and professional. Well done.
Maybe more plain sandwiches that customers could add mustard or pickle too not a lot of choice otherwise if you don't like there selection.
Excellent service, brilliant idea. Booked for my partners 30th birthday as a surprise and he loved it.
Books for 4 saying by it was a special occasion. We were not assigned a special table. Was also so surprised to see that tea was served in a thermos and there were no choices of tea offered. This is Britain after all and the tea service should have been high class. The bread on the sandwiches was thick and somewhat stale.
Not worth a tea cruise. Just a cruise would have probably been better for us.
Booked the cruise as a treatment for our family who visited us this summer. They enjoyed the cruise and afternoon tea, even though it was a bit rainy on the day.
Nice food, super service, whilst super views along gr8 he river
We had a great afternoon beautiful tea and great service
Very good service through out the journey.
The bread for the sandwiches was a bit rubbish, but the fillings were good.
Great value. Plenty of food and lots of tea or coffee refills. Jug of pimms was lush!
Entertaining commentary, leisurely pace, it was very good. It was a bit hot on the day (which made me regret choosing a window seat) but that's not your fault.
It was great food!
Only drawback was that 'Millennium of London' has poor quality/non-existent PA system so no commentary was heard, but having worked in London for 40 years, I explained all to my guests.
too long, and it took us about 25 minutes to "park" and gett off, no explanation was given for the delay, other vassels that have arrived after us have already being parked
Plenty of everything - so fresh we were full to the brim
The sandwich choice was limited and not very traditional. A quarter of egg and cress half a smoked salmon and watercress and prawn. Not the best options for sandwiches
The afternoon tea was delicious, the guide was very good and it was a beautiful day. We couldn't have asked for a better day and we all very much enjoyed it.
Not a lot of veg/fish selection. No refill as we only could eat a select range
Afternoon Tea was lovely. Plenty of cakes & sandwich and we opted for the prosecco to go with it. A lovely treat and great value for money.
An excellent selection and amount of sandwiches and cakes. Our tea cups were constantly topped up!
The food tiers were adequate however during the trip ours fell due to some sort of waves. On such a trip I expect the tiers to be tumble proof. We were not offered a replacement as it was not our fault. I can assure you we didn't drop the food as we were rather hungry.
If I remember correctly it would have been nice to have a bottle of water on the table. Happy to pay for it before we boarded.
Lovely way to see London from the Thames on a gorgeous sunny afternoon.
Relaxed and humorous commentary, pleasant young people on service and happy customers celebrating a variety of occasions- birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions and a bridal shower along with tourists such as ourselves.
Would thoroughly recommend.
Beautifully presented and tasty.
A boat was out of service, and n
Nice choice of sandwiches and cakes. The only thing i would change were scones, but it's only because of fact I'm used to ones made with different recipe (no raisins, more dry, crumble)
Smooth ride and great for anyone (even if you feel a little rough on a boat) a perfect way to spend an afternoon relaxing and seeing the sights
I wasn't impressed with the quality of the tea.
Good service and tea.
Lovely afternoon tea
it was a fine expeians
Afternoon tea was absolutely amazing the food was delicious
Fantastic cruise. Commentary very good and amusing without being over the top. Food brilliant. Staff very attentive. Well worth it.
Lovely staff and good cruise however no high chairs available on board for little people!
Particularly Anthony who was so kind when we missed our cruise. His customer service (and that of his boss) was outstanding
Just a happy jaunt along the thames.. lovely company and service.. Only thing might have been nice to have some highlights pointed out..
very nice food, my only complaint is that we were not allowed to take the leftovers home, my little one was sleep the whole trip and woke up hungry when we were back at the pier so we had to resort to mcdonalds :(
The sandwiches were very ordinary, the cakes were soggy but I must say the scone was very good. I had the coffee which was passable but my friends say the tea was awful. Having said that the whole trip was enjoyable and I have recommended it to my friends.
Talk was very informative and interesting. Plenty of lovely food and tea and coffee were flowing. Lovely trip.
Great and tasty
All the staff were polite, friendly and attentive. The afternoon tea was delicious.
Our Captain who was Irish was very informative and entertaining.
We had a super time xx
Good food and cruise.
As nothing can be 100%, Very Good should be my answer.
Food was excellent. Nice and fresh. Booked for a party of 6 people but not told configuration of tables was 4 + 2. No sign of white linen tablecloths per website photograph.
See above a brilliant day out
Very friendly and professional
More choice for children though please x
Lovely food. Service was a little slow and we were last to receive our food and first to be asked if we'd finished. We didn't feel rushed though
Absolutely excellent! Well worth the money.
It was Perfect!
(no customer comment)
I think this cruise has so much potential but the PA was all but impossible to hear. I could hear someone talking but it was muffled and so I missed everything. I even mentioned it to our server and they 'turned it up' but that didn't help whatsoever. I think there is room for improvement!
VERY GOOD, MAYBE LIGHT MUSIC INSTEAD OF COMMENTARY WOULD BE BETTER AS IT WAS HARD TO HEAR WHAT WAS BEING SAID AND I THINK A SIGHT SEEING TRIP WOULD BE BETTER FOR THAT. AND IT WOULD MAKE IT A LITTLE MORE RELAXING. HAVING SAID THAT HAD A VERY PLEASANT AFTERNOON TEA.
Would like to visit again when I travel to London next time.
The staff were very attentive and friendly
Maybe the trip could go a bit further on the river and tell more about the history. Unfortunately the boat is permitted to travel only on one side of the canal, otherwise traveling on the other side would be interesting. The company also offers hot drinks and snacks on the boat. We haven't tried the afternoon tea.
Very pleasant and relaxed and lovely fresh tea.
Nice variety although the gluten free choice wasn't as good and felt quite rushed.
The cruise was satisfactory but I had expected to travel further downstream, maybe to see the Thames Barrier
Food was outstanding
Excellent in general but couldn't always hear the tour guide due to the noise of the boat.
Delicious! Variety of sandwiches, cakes and well worth the money!
For the price of the package this is a good deal
Overall very good
We wished you had a highchair for our toddler... otherwise everything was fine!
The waiters was very friendly!!!
Very good cruise considering it was my first Thames cruising the Thames
Nice food and drink
We enjoyed the tea cruise very much. The only negative is that your coffee and tea carafes are terribly stained and not too appetizing looking. A little bleach would go a long way to improve the appearance, or maybe black carafes instead of white?
Good choice of food and plenty of tea/coffee refills if required.
on the other hand, all the members of the staff who served us were absolutely nice polite and professional, and the food was fresh and excellent quality, so everybody enjoyed
An amazing way to see London on the Thames whilst eating some amazing food and drinking loads of hot tea.
Afternoon Tea was adequate, not much of a range of sandwich, but the cruise for an hour and a half more than made up for it. A great way for us to see London. I also ordered a jug of Pimms, which was delicious, all staff were very attentive.
Please could you have more choice on sandwiches and tea.
Very professional staff good quality food and would like to repeat the whole experience.
Good variety of sandwiches and cakes.
Far exceeded all expectations. Excellent service and afternoon tea. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience
