The River Red Rover is all-day hop on, hop off Thames river pass offering unlimited access to the river for 24 hours or 72 hours. You can hop on and hop off at any one of four piers, with open passage on any City Cruises sightseeing boats for a full day spent exploring the sights of the Thames.
With comfortable seats, hot and cold refreshments, guided commentary, friendly staff and (most importantly) uncompromised views from all-weather sightseeing boats, this is the best way to see the heart of London.
We offer a great value family pass. Pay for two adults and up to three kids travel completely free.
In between stops, you'll be treated to a guided commentary of the many sights along the Thames. There's so much to see and do with a 24 hour river pass.
Our cruises depart every 30 minutes, every day of the week, all year round, giving you the chance to explore the many sights of the River Thames from four fantastic piers near popular attractions: Westminster, London Eye, Tower of London and Greenwich.
Please note that some discounts are only at pier level such as travel card deals and freedom passes and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
Sightseeing cruises depart every 30 minutes from piers at Westminster, London Eye, Tower and Greenwich. We also run circular cruises from Tower and Bankside pier.
* Extra sailing on Monday and Tuesday only.
A: Not on Fridays.
Actual times may vary depending upon the state of the tide and other river traffic. Always check with City Cruises staff for any changes to advertised services.
I would appreciate headphones with German language in order to explain German pupils the sights you can see from the boat. Not all pupils are that familiar with the English language and are disappointed after the tour because they don´t understand the English explanation via the microphone. The rest is very good.
nice cruise for my family, I love it!
It was amazing, loved the commentary.
A most enjoyable time, especially the conducted guide.
Enjoyed it very much; lots of information, would have liked to have heard the whole of Jerry and the Pacemakers song!
We had a beautiful day and even some sunshine! We especially enjoyed getting to spend some time in Greenwich, a place we might not have visited otherwise on our trip to London.
Great commentary by the cruise staff, added laughter, entertainment and history to the cruise. Really enjoyable day
A great value day out, a perfect way to see all the London sights when you are short of time or feeling a bit jaded to see everything on food
Would highly recommend city cruises
But not perfect. Some boats are very uncomfortable with poor legroom and screw ends that bruise knees.
The cruises are advertised as with commentary. Yet the crew state they commentate voluntarily and are unpaid. When asked if there was headset commentary in English we were told there is not. So either the advertising material is wrong or the crew are not telling the truth. Either way it leaves a bad impression.
We manage to get on the cruise in front of the Royal barge!! The commentary was highly entertaining. On the way back it rained so we took advantage of the bar facilities!
Never got a chance to board because of the incorrect information provided by your agent
The on board crew were delightful
The guide to Greenwich was funny
Very informative and amusing commentary, well equipped boat.
I took my parents for a day out in London and city cruise was an excellent choice. I was impressed by the fact that they offer commentary in many languages for free. It was very informative and entertaining.
Nice cruise however on the first boat that we wen on there was a very sarcastic crew member talking and he verged on rude so we wouldn't leave money when he shook the champagne bucket at the exit shouting "thanks for nothing" at people as they disembarked.
I felt the boat went quite quickly and there wasn't alot of time for guide to point out all the buildings
Good and the tour guide is full with energy!!
Small cruise boat from Westminster to Tower was good, with an excellent and witty live commentary. Large vessel back to Westminster was not so good - the outside deck was totally packed. Recorded commentary was patronising and cringeworthy - far better to have a simple factual commentary without ridiculous sound effects.
My daughter, my mother in low and me, we really enjoyed our cruise in beautiful sunny weather. Crew commentary was useful, informative and very funny :))) Thank you!
Lots to see on the way to Greenwich, we were lucky with the weather and sat on top . It was so hot on the way back we sat inside but again had a splendid view, thanks to the floor to wall windows. A good day out !!!
However, the sign-posting could have been better. After a stop-over at Tower Bridge, the journey to Greenwich wasn't possible as we'd missed the last boat.
The cruise was nice and enjoyable. There was recorded or on-site audio guide on the cruise. There were quite many passengers toward the rush hour in the evening, but the boarding and disembarking process seemed orderly and speedy. The staff at the piers are friendly and helpful.
Very enjoyable outward journey with entertaining and informative 'guide'. Can't remember his name but he did say he lived in Greenwich. On way back we had the taped guide which was very cheesy and the double act was really cringe-worthy. The pilot's commentary continued for all of the journey - very impressive.
Great route, will highly recommend.
Couldn't has asked for a better summer day. 30 min. duration was sufficient with our teens.
It was good!
What a fantastic cruise! The staff were approachable and informative before we even boarded the cruise. The live commentary was amusing, interesting and able to adapt to current affairs! This was apparent when we were able to plan to be back at Tower Bridge for when it opened to allow the last sailing of the Royal Mail Boat to leave! Would certainly recommend.
Excellent commentary and excellent service
The cruise was excellent and very interesting.
Efficient and very enjoyable commentary
Great cruise and would recommend it!
tour guide has very informative and amusing so ensured we remember the trip
We took 2 day tickets and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was comfortable, dry and warm. couldn't fault it, tank you
Boat was on time and comfortable. On the cruise to Greenwich, the crew seemed very knowledgeable about the sights on the river.
FRIENDLY STAFF INFORMATIVE COMMENTARY
Able to see lots of sights
highlight of our stay in London
2nd time. Will go again
we had a fabulous cruise it was my friends birthday and he said it was one of the best days out he's had we went from Millenium Tower Bridge to Westminster and back we loved it i highly recomend it and we will be doing it again.
The staff were all pleasant and very noligable
Very good useful information
Clean and nice views.
Duration is sufficient. Boat cruises among the most renowned landmarks of the city.
Excellent. Very informative - we discovered history we didn't know about. Friendly staff.
The boatmans commentary was excellent as far as I was concerned it greatly added to the enjoyment of the trip.
The Pound was expensive for canadians but the value of the tour was great.
Informative cruise & commentary. Good, clean toilets. Hot beverages were a bit pricey.
The captain did a nice présentation of all monuments we were passing by. That was ok as we all speak English but for People who don't speak English it would have been useless and audioguide were not working.
It was great trip though think that people should be given an axpromiate time that if you go on City Cruise to Greenwich from Westminister when I looked on website it says 50 Mins I think it was more like an hour but still the City cruise was brillant
Very pleasant amusing
It would be great, to have some pillow on the seats, because the metal was too cold for sitton on it in.
I also loved the real London accent of the person giving the commentary. Felt very good compared to the cultivated London accent!
We both had a excellent day, and would recommend the trip to anyone visiting London as a relaxing and interesting way to see the city
Unfortunately we were unlucky with the weather and only managed to sit "up top" for 3/4 of the return journey. The cruise was enjoyable and we were able to make use of the bar & shop. Would it be possible to produce a river guide as sometimes its hard to take all in ?
Great friendly and knowledgable staff
The gentleman giving speaking on the microphone was excellent.
Cruise booked was cancelled so had to get next boat which was very overcrowded limiting the view
The only problem was that when it started raining everyone went below (which was crowded, as expected), and we could not hear the audio narration.
Service was very good even at a really busy time
The commentary provided by the crew was excellent.
Very nice and courteous staff
we really liked the commentary and info therein, much better than audio guide, worth a tip which is what we did....thsnks
quite good, but too many stops.
Very relaxed no pressure to get on or off . Staff very helpful
The young lad was clever and funny
only problem, which is normal with most loud speaker systems, you really couldn't understand most of what the tour guide was saying. We were busy admiring the views anyway. definitely do it again!
Very beautiful day. Enjoyed every minute of it.
We only saw the portion from the Tower Bridge to Greenwich.
Lots of the sights to see.
It was phenomenal. I really enjoyed it.
Funny guide, beautiful sights, a great time!
My kids had a great time,Well worth it,
Best way to see the sights of London
Great unhurried way to see the city
A very enjoyable trip. Live commentary from the team member was excellent.
Tremendous trip, shame about the weather, but the commentary on the return journey was very informative
very funny guide
The crew/guides were really funny and informative.
Good accompaniment, nice commentary.
Excellent cruise fortunately at high tide which was fun as we skimmed under the bridges to have best view of all the landmarks. Great being able to have stop offs then rejoin the boat. Many thanks
Great crew, brilliant information given
Crowded going towards the Tower and very few seats.
A much nicer boat and plenty of room on return trip from Greenwich.
Sometimes nice information about the river, but being alone with only my group at the beginning of the season, there is no comment at all. That is sometimes pretty sad.
Lots of information with a hint of humor made for an entertaining day out.
We were shocked by the man who did the commentary on the cruise. He was openly hostile towards the non-English speaking tourists to such an extent it made most people on the cruise feel very uncomfortable. I would imagine the business relies upon these very people for its business and besides it did not send a great message out about London as a multi-cultural tolerant city.
Return journey was informative and very useful to understand the history of London
Thought there would have been more stops and chances to get off the boat for sightseeing
Good informative commentary. On the trip from Tower Bridge we took the last sailing to Westminster and sat on the top deck. Ben, who claimed not to be a commentator, was excellent. Very informative and highly amusing. An absolute star.
Our guide spoke with knowledge and humor, a great combination. We loved it!
Fantastic cruise - so informative and beautiful to see London from the boat. I will definitely go again. Thank you!
good cruise would definitely recommend if you want an alternative way to get around london!
The staff in City cruise are very helpful
The commentator was very amusing
The actual cruise was enjoyable even on a wet day and the craft was excellent.
We had "live" entertainment and one member of the staff talked us through the sightseeing instead of using the headphones. That was really funny and enjoyable
Brilliant! I'm a student so it cost me just £7 which was excellent value for money and an affordable present for my partner who has never seen London befor, Saw all the landmarks from a different perspective and felt great to know we were actually on the themes. The que was fast and had enjoyable ride, the guy giving to tour was funny and gaveus all the info and was funny which made the atmosphere on the boat a positive one
Pleasant & informative - highly recommended!!
The captain was doubling up as one of the best and wittiest tour guides I have ever seen or heard! A real Londoner by heart.
WE enjoyed the commentary very much
The sound system for commentaries was not good.
The cruise itself was good and staff were friendly. Commentary was disappointing. Last time it spoke about lots of sights of historical interest which is what I wanted our children to hear. Unfortunately, this time the commentary was more hung up on where Cher used to live and lives now and where Gandolf lives! Not what we were hoping for - this is not Hollywood, please stop trying to be like them.
Entertaining and enlightening I would recommend this to my friends and family as a good day out.
The cruise was great.
Enjoyable ride helped having beautiful weather. Very smooth
nothing more to write that it was very pleasant and comments very understandable.
We had a great time and the guide was brilliant!
It was nice to discover London from a boat great moment And memories
We totally enjoyed all and serivce was good , staffs was friendly , good job keep continue ,thanks !
